Invesco Field
The 50 Yard line divides the North section of the field from the South section of the field
The 50 yard line is just like the Equator, at 0 degrees, which means the 40 yard line in the N & S, line is 10 degrees N & S.
Basic Football field, with 1 half of the field in the North, and the other half in the South.
Football field flipped, imagining the 50 yard line is the Equator at Zero degrees. Half the field is in the Northern hemisphere, and the other half in the Southern
Football field flipped, but now the Prime Meridian is included, with lines of longitude East and West included.
Activity: 1) Write out plays for the basic Football field. "Team is lined up on their 40 yard line. 30 yard pass...." 2) Then write out the same play on the field flipped with the Equator. "Team is lined up on 40 degrees south. Passes to a receiver at 10 degrees south." 3) Last write out the same play describing exactly where the players are. "Quarterback is at 40 degrees south. Moves 5 yards south. Scrambles 10 yards West. Passes to a receiver at 10 degrees South 15 degrees East."
